Off the beaten path but worth the unusual route to get there! It was cozy and warm inside in December. The ambiance is very eclectic and the staff is friendly and attentive. You order at the counter but they bring it to the table. It wasn't too loud and the chairs all have cushions so it's comfortable to stay a while. The German food was amazing and came out quickly, delivered directly by the cooks as soon as it's ready. Prices are very good considering the top quality food. Great selection of German draft beer! I look forward to coming back to enjoy the biergarten this summer! Prost!

Fantastic joint. Not pretending to be something it isn’t, just a good old fashioned Biergarten with top notch food and a great selection of beers and other alcohol. Live music was not overpowering, and was appropriate to the crowd. Definitely heading back on my next trip to Cincinnati.

Kantine is an excellent restaurant to experience authentic German cuisine. Peter, the owner, greets guests with cheerful warmth and genuine hospitality. The outdoor terrace is delightful, and the cozy indoor dining room makes you feel immediately at home. Although it is just distant enough from downtown to give you a sense of escape from Cincinnati, the food and the owner’s atmosphere together offer a virtual ticket to Germany. Located in the Westside, inside a former industrial building now in transformation, Kantine combines authenticity with character, making it a truly memorable spot.
